Job Summary

The Contributor is recruiting new members for its Board of Directors to help guide our mission of supporting unhoused and low‑income neighbors toward financial security and self‑determination. Board service involves a three‑year term, quarterly meetings, active committee work, and a personally meaningful annual donation. If you have expertise to share and a passion for practical solutions to homelessness, we invite you to apply.

Job Responsibilities

What the role involves

  • Time commitment: Three‑year term; attend six board meetings and two fundraising events per year and consider serving on a board committee.
  • Governance: Keep the organization focused on mission, review strategy and programs, and uphold legal and ethical standards.
  • Financial stewardship: Approve budgets, monitor financial reports, and ensure strong internal controls.
  • Fundraising and giving: Make a personally meaningful annual gift and use your network to open doors to new donors.
  • Executive support: Hire, support, and evaluate the Executive Director.
  • Advocacy: Represent The Contributor in the community and strengthen key partnerships.

Financial management, hospitality, real estate, health care, journalism, legal, peer‑support, and nonprofit leadership backgrounds are especially useful.
