Job Description

Position: Mechanic II

Pay Rate/Salary: $27.41 to $27.96

Shift: Flexible to any shift

Location: Stockton, CA

POSITION OVERVIEW:

This position is responsible for maintenance repair and installation of processing equipment. Candidate must have knowledge of mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical system components for production processing.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performing mechanical installation, equipment optimization, and preventive maintenance on production equipment.
  • Maintaining and repairing plant equipment in accordance with diagrams, sketches, schematics, and operation manuals.
  • Maintaining mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic system components for production areas.
  • Complete emergency repairs when necessary to offset downtime and production delays.
  • Perform line changeovers when required.
  • Completes PM (preventive maintenance) work orders as assigned through CMMS system.
  • Uses schematics, blueprints, and diagrams to troubleshoot and diagnose equipment or process related issues and problems.
  • Ensure documentation of work using CMMS (MP2) and complete work orders as assigned
  • Performs assigned jobs with minimum direction and supervision.
  • Diagnose problems, dismantle machines, replace defective parts and reassemble machines.
  • Troubleshoot and repair machinery mechanically (hydraulic/pneumatic).
  • SMAW and MIG welding for repair of plant equipment.
  • Perform all duties with the required safety equipment and comply with all safety regulations and company policies.
  • Understand Environmental policy and regulatory compliances for Wastewater, Storm water, HVAC and Hazardous waste.

KNOWLEDGE, ABILITY AND SKILLS:

  • Strong ability to understand diagrams, sketches and schematics.
  • Ability to perform basic shop skills, fabrication, and welding.
  • Applies Good Manufacturing Practices, SOP’s,.
  • Experience working on plumbing, HVAC, Boilers, Water treatment and Fire systems.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in all phases of machine work.
  • Demonstrates a proficient understanding of hydraulics and pneumatics.
  • Working understanding of a CMMS System.
  • Two year’s experience in the maintenance field

MINIMUM REQUIREMENT:

  • 4 year’s experience in the maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of manufacturing using the required skills above and/or a qualified 672.
  • Required to work any shift and overtime as required.
  • Required to lift up to 50 pounds frequently.
  • AA in Industrial Maintenance, electrical, mechanical, preferred.

  • Comply with safety rules.

  • Participate actively in the safety process to identify and correct safety issues.
  • Demonstrate understanding and application of a Lock out Tag Out procedure.
  • Report all accidents and injuries immediately.
  • Submit suggestions to improve safety and safety improvement implementation.
  • Know their duties in case of emergency.
  • Be a coach to others who are acting unsafely.

MINIMUM PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, talk or hear.
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.
  • This position requires safety equipment be worn such as, but not limited to, protective footwear, hard hats, ear plugs, and safety glasses.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
  • To work in high, precarious places.
  • To work in outside weather conditions.
  • Required to work any shift.
  • Required to work overtime if necessary.
