Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Compressor Station & Metering Facility Engineer to oversee the design, development, and execution of natural gas infrastructure projects. This role ensures that all compressor station and metering facility designs adhere to regulatory standards, industry codes, and internal specifications. The successful candidate will manage third-party engineering deliverables, lead design reviews, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive project success from concept through commissioning.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure all compressor station and metering facility designs comply with federal regulations (e.g., CFR 192), industry codes, and company engineering standards.
• Define the scope, schedule, and budget for design and material procurement related to compressor and metering projects.
• Manage third-party engineering firms, ensuring deliverables align with established budget and timeline expectations.
• Review and approve design packages, including technical drawings, reports, and material take-offs.
• Lead and participate in design review meetings with engineering consultants, project managers, operations, and construction teams to resolve scope and constructability issues.
• Evaluate vendor proposals for major components such as gas compressors, vessels, piping, valves, generators, and buildings; conduct technical and commercial evaluations to ensure optimal value.
• Analyze lessons learned from previous projects and incorporate improvements into future design practices; actively identify and communicate quality issues and best practices.
• Support ongoing department initiatives and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Civil, or related engineering discipline.
• Minimum of 7 years of engineering experience, ideally with design and execution of compressor stations and metering facilities.
• Proficient understanding of CFR 192 and other applicable codes and standards.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects independently and meet time-sensitive deliverables.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong problem-solving skills utilizing engineering standards and prior experience to develop effective solutions.
• Valid driver’s license (motor vehicle record will be verified prior to hire).
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).

Preferred Qualifications

• 7–10 years of experience in the natural gas industry, specifically in compressor station and metering facility design.
• Familiarity with procurement, construction, and commissioning processes.
• Experience working with interdisciplinary teams and managing contractor relationships.
• Ability to integrate lessons learned and continuous improvement practices into engineering processes.
