Atomic Arcade seeks passionate, experienced, and a team-oriented Senior Technical Designer with combat, AI experience and/or game systems to help us create an outstanding AAA,Action game. The ideal candidate will be a passionate, lifetime gamer with shown experience designing and implementing incredible content and features in other AAA titles. You possess an excellent understanding of Unreal Engine and Blueprint Scripting or other scripting tools. You have high standards in everything you do and are committed to crafting memorable gameplay experiences. Working with our Lead Gameplay/Combat Designer you will play a meaningful role as we prototype and kick off production. You will be responsible for some of the game’s moment-to-moment gameplay mechanics, driving them from concept all the way to ship. In this role, you will Work closely with Lead Designers and other teams to brainstorm and help craft the vision for the game. Own the implementation and design of gameplay features from start to finish in the Unreal Engine. Such as, combat abilities, weapons, enemies, Boss, etc. Be the go-to person for the design and implementation of sophisticated content that require heavy artist/animations/designer/engineer interaction. Be an advocate for player experience and build compelling user stories. What You'll Bring Multiple years of Technical Game Design experience At least 1 shipped AAA titles with significant contributions on successful gameplay/combat features or mechanics. Experience working and using blueprints in Unreal game engine. Experience tuning sophisticated systems (ex – aim assist, camera systems, AI Behavior trees, overall game balance, progression and RPG mechanics). Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Self-sufficient and self-motivated, able to push features forward but also know when to ask for mentorship or help. What we're looking for Minimum 5 years of experience in Gameplay and/or Combat Design. Deep familiarity with AAA 3rd Person Action games. Ability to work on various design topics. Very comfortable with Unreal Engine Blueprints. Build clear and concise design specs. Problem-solver demeanor. Someone who is user-focused, creative, and innovative. Passion for making and playing games. Enthusiastic, positive, team-oriented approach to team collaboration. Self-sufficient and motivated individual, can perform duties with little oversight.
